Are you a beginner crocheter looking for that perfect handmade addition to your kitchen? Do you
want to be crafty and make all your own household items? Then perhaps making your own striped tea towel is the perfect place to start!
This is a reasonably large towel, measuring about 16" X 17"! If you would like a smaller or larger towel, the start off pattern below is just a template. Therefore, you are more than welcome to tweak the pattern to make your towel just the right size. (:
For this pattern, you will need:
- 100% cotton worsted yarn (any size is okay!!)
-for all colors of yarn, I always suggest getting two spools just to be safe. (:
- A crochet hook to match the gauge of your yarn

This pattern is an easy-level pattern. However, you will need to be very well acquainted with the following crochet shorthands:
- Ch: chain
- Dc: double crochet
- F.O. : finish off
This pattern is pretty universal, so you are more than welcome to share and sell the items you have made with this pattern. If you are interested in purchasing any of our specific towel patterns, you can visit our Etsy Shop. We would even love to see all the towels you make!!
To make a striped towel, the pattern is very, quite repetitive. You will-- realistically-- only be stitching the same stitch or two for the entire pattern.
1. To start off, ch 80
2. Ch 3, dc across (80)
3-38) Repeat Rw 2.
Depending on how you prefer the thickness of your stripes, you can change colors every two or four rows. Maybe even mix it up!
We are excited to see what you have come up with on your own patterns!
Crochet on!
